La Ciénega is a town located in the Santa Catalina Department of the Jujuy province. It is located 1 km east of Grande San Juan that marks the border with Bolivia, in the extreme north of the country. The main economic activity is sheep farming. Here on Provincial Route 40 is school 271 consisting of Kindergarten and primary education. We send material donations to the school, including clothing, footwear, school supplies, medicine and non-perishable food. They receive annual visits from doctors and dentists from the Santa Clara Civil Association with whom we share a solidarity-humanitarian project in border schools and native communities.
